Fire Protection Services
From fire protection surveys and assessments to strategy, remedial works and ongoing compliance, Thermotel helps you identify risks, plan the right actions and keep your building protected.
Your challenges
Fire protection is not always straightforward. Buildings change over time, services are added, layouts are altered, and historic work may not have been properly recorded. This can leave responsible persons with uncertainty around compliance, risk and the actions needed to put things right.
You may be asking:
Do we know whether the building is compliant?
Have the key fire protection risks been identified?
What actions do you need to undertake to be compliant?
Are our fire doors, compartments and fire-stopping measures performing as they should?
Do we have a current fire strategy, and does the building still reflect it?
What needs to be addressed immediately, and what can be planned into future works?
Do we have the evidence, records and certification needed to support the golden thread?
Are we clear on our obligations as the responsible person?
Thermotel helps you move from uncertainty to a clear, practical plan.
Our Services
The full lifecycleDiscover
We can carry out detailed fire protection surveys and assessments to establish the current condition of your building. This can include passive fire protection surveys, compartmentation surveys, fire door surveys and fire risk assessments.
Our surveys are carried out by experienced people who understand not just what compliance should look like on paper, but how fire protection products are installed, maintained and remediated on site.
Strategy
Once the issues are understood, we can help you prioritise the actions required. This may include identifying urgent works, short-term risk reduction measures, planned remedial works, and longer-term improvements.
Where required, we can also support fire strategy creation or updates, including marked-up drawings and practical recommendations based on the building, its use and its risks.
Maintenance
Fire protection is not a one-off exercise. We can provide planned maintenance, follow-on inspections, regular fire door surveys and support with ongoing fire risk assessment requirements, helping you keep your building under review as it changes over time.
Do you know, we can also do the work?
Where remedial works are required, Thermotel can carry out the work as well as identifying the issue.
This gives clients a direct route from survey to resolution, reducing the risk of fragmented advice, unclear responsibility or delays between assessment and delivery.

Surveys carried out by people who understand installation
Our passive fire protection surveys are carried out by experienced engineers with practical installation knowledge. This helps us go deeper than a surface-level inspection, identifying not only that something is wrong, but why it is wrong and what is likely to be required to put it right.

We know that poor-quality surveys can leave clients exposed. Reports may miss key issues, underestimate the scale of remedial works, or fail to provide enough clarity for meaningful action.
Our approach is to give clear, honest advice so you understand the true position, the level of risk and the practical steps available.

Case Study
Following an insurance audit, Thermotel was engaged to carry out a passive fire compartmentation and fire door survey for a data centre.
The survey identified a number of issues with existing compartmentation and fire doors, giving the client a clearer picture of the works required to improve protection across the building.
Working with the client over a number of years, Thermotel supported a programme of improvements to bring the property back up to standard. The work went beyond basic life safety requirements, supporting enhanced protection of critical server infrastructure in line with the insurer’s requirements.
This included large-scale remedial works, including the relocation and rebuilding of UPS and battery rooms, helping ensure the building could continue to operate safely and reliably for years to come.
